Olivia Newton John’s husband, treasure hunter and cannabis expert ‘Amazon John’ is joining the corporate club.
He’s now on the board of Medical Cannabis Ltd, the subsidiary of Queensland Bauxite (ASX:QBL).
John Easterling, as he’s more formally known, got his nickname after spending many years exploring the Amazon rainforest.
It was there, after a personal health crisis, he was introduced to the traditional use of medicinal plants by the indigenous people of Peru.
Mr Easterling founded the Amazon Herb Company in 1990 and serves on the board of the Amazon Center of Environmental Education and Research.

He married Olivia Newton-John in a secret ceremony, conducted by a shaman on a sacred mountain-top site in Peru, in 2008 and is an advocate for wider medical marijuana use in Australia
Mr Easterling first started growing his own cannabis in 1970, QBL told investors in an ASX announcement.
He now keeps a personal research garden with a variety of different strains in California, and co-owns a licensed medical cannabis farm, Crystal Pharm Organics, in Oregon.
QBL says Mr Easterling has bred a dozen new genetics and his focus now is formulating using a broad range of cannabinoid and terpene profiles for specific therapeutic benefits.
