Only three of the ASX’s dairy companies have seen their share price improve in the past month, as reporting season came to its end.

HRL Holdings (ASX:HRL), Bioxyne (ASX:BXN) and Jatenergy (ASX:JAT) have all emerged from the period with their share prices in tact, while Longtable Group (ASX:LON) — which bought out Maggie Beer’s business in March — was treading water on Monday.

HRL Holdings doesn’t make any dairy formula, but during the financial year it entered into an agreement with MilkTestNZ to create a joint venture company which will provide analytical testing service to the wider New Zealand dairy industry.

The company’s shares are up 14 per cent in the past month to 11c. It posted a loss of $7.1m in 2019, though its revenue increased 13 per cent to $30.8m.

Bioxyne, which sells a honey-colostrum milk formula, is up 11 per cent to 2c, while Jatenergy, which acquired Victorian formula producer Australian Natural Milk Association (ANMA) in August, is up 5 per cent.

Its revenue rose a whopping 2,768 per cent to $66m, though its loss also blew out significantly.

The news is not so good for the sector overall though, with the 14 ASX companies offering investors exposure to the dairy industry down 6 per cent in the past month and 20 per cent year-on-year.

Two of the biggest stocks, Bellamy’s (ASX:BAL) and A2 Milk (ASX:A2M), are the biggest fallers in the past month, down 23 and 19 per cent respectively.
