Interest surges in small caps ahead of Gold Coast ASX investor conference

Investor interest in ASX-listed small caps continues to surge with the ASX Small Ords sharemarket index maintaining seven-year highs.
The Small Ords — which is the ASX’s benchmark index for small-cap investments — hit 2868.6 this month.
That’s its highest point in more than seven years (see graph below).
After a steady decline during the first half of the decade, the small cap index has been increasing over the past three years.
Thats great news for investors hunting stocks with strong growth potential.
Next week about 30 ASX-listed small caps are gathering at the annual Gold Coast Investment Showcase to present the latest news from their companies.
The well-known event — which Stockhead presents as media sponsor — has been running for more than ten years and is free for investors.
The Gold Coast Investment Showcase is popular among investors because it presents a number of investment opportunities across a diverse range of sectors.
The relaxed nature of the event also provides popular networking gatherings encouraging interaction between investors and company representatives.
The event is managed by one of Australia’s best conference producers, Vertical Events, and presented by top corporate advisory EverBlu Capital.
The conference takes place at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa on Wednesday June 20 and Thursday June 21.
Investors will hear from gold explorers such as Thundelarra, West Wits, Matsa and Impact Minerals which is exploring for Pilbara congolmerate gold.
There are innovators such as Phoslock which is working on solving China’s clean water problems and SelfWealth which offers an online community and fixed-free brokerage.
A number of cutting-edge health and biotechnology companies will also present including Kazia Therapeutics, which is taking a new approach to developing a brain cancer drug.
