Pure Hydrogen’s 60% owned subsidiary, HDrive International, has secured an order to supply two battery electric (BEV) mini buses in a deal valued at $700,000.

Pure Hydrogen (ASX:PH2) plans to supply hydrogen fuel to both Australian customers and regional Asia Pacific markets through the production of Green, Emerald, and Turquoise hydrogen.

It is building a network of hydrogen production facilities across the country while also accelerating its “go-to-market” strategy, supplying high-quality BEV and hydrogen fuelled buses and trucks to the Australian market.

In its latest development, PH2 has executed a sales agreement for the supply of two electric, 18-seater mini-buses to Sapphire Coast Buslines in NSW on a cash basis, with the buses expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2024.

The order is the first of its type for HDrive International, which recently delivered the Taurus Prime Mover to Australia ahead its trial with PepsiCo.

Hydrogen fuelled delivery also imminent

The company is also in the final stages of delivering Australia’s first hydrogen fuel cell prime mover and refuse collection vehicle to JJ Richards Waste, expected to be trialled from late 2023.

A second refuse collection vehicle trial is slated to commence in early 2024 with Solo Resource Recovery. Subject to successful trial periods, Pure Hydrogen’s customers may exercise options for additional vehicles, with over 100 options already in place.

PH2 managing director Scott Brown congratulated Sapphire Coast Buslines on their commitment to clean transport and embracing the efficiencies battery electric technology delivers.

“This order represents the efforts Pure Hydrogen has made towards accelerating its go-to-market strategy, supplying high-quality BEV and hydrogen fuelled buses and trucks to the Australian market,” he says.

“The fast charging electric together with the low floor design is a compelling option for transit companies seeking to both improve their green credentials and lower their operating costs.

“Similar to other battery electric options currently used by countries leading the transition to clean fleets, they feature lower noise and less vibration compared to their diesel counterparts making them better for communities.”
