Pure Hydrogen’s EV80 mini-buses are set to transport 300,000 visitors a year at Mossman Gorge

  • Pure Hydrogen has confirmed the supply of two EV80 electric mini-buses to Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia with a successful launch event this week
  • Buses will serve as the primary shuttle for the more than 300,000 annual visitors to Mossman Gorge
  • Result highlights company’s growing sales pipeline for zero emissions vehicles

Special Report: Pure Hydrogen’s zero-emissions vehicle adoption gains further momentum, with the company this week celebrating the official delivery of two electric mini-buses to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre in North Queensland. The milestone was marked with a successful launch event, highlighting the region’s commitment to sustainable tourism and clean transport solutions.

The nine-metre EV80 electric mini-buses supplied to Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia in March 2025 by the company’s majority-owned subsidiary, HDrive International, feature disabled access and are capable of sitting 30 passengers with standing room for another 15.

The EV80 buses are now in full operational service, and will serve as the primary shuttle for the more than 300,000 annual visitors to Mossman Gorge while reducing the environmental impact on one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems within the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest.

The vehicles – named Kurranji (Cassowary) and Kurriyala (Carpet Snake) – are accompanied by single vehicle chargers to support efficient charging, with MGCC’s rooftop solar system expected to supply a substantial portion of the energy required for daily operation.

Importantly for Pure Hydrogen (ASX:PH2), the agreement runs until June 2026 and includes the option for the delivery of an additional two mini-buses and a dual vehicle charger, which demonstrates the potential for continued deployment.

Consolidating market position

Managing director Scott Brown said the initiative is a powerful example of how the company’s clean transport technology was being used in the real world to deliver better environmental outcomes and meaningful community benefits.

“We commend Voyages for their leadership in sustainable tourism, and we’re proud to play a role in preserving the Daintree’s natural and cultural heritage while improving the visitor experience,” he said.

“These deliveries form part of our growing sales pipeline for EV and HFC vehicles, as we continue to consolidate our market position as a leading provider of clean energy solutions in the commercial transport sector.”

The company’s recent sales activity includes the first order for a hydrogen fuel-cell powered concrete agitator truck in March 2025 and the sale of two HFC-powered prime movers to TOLL Transport as part of a package worth more than $2m in January 2025.

Separately, it handed over in February 2025 Australia’s first HFC rear loader waste collection vehicles to Solo Resource Recovery.
