• Pure Hydrogen sells Taurus hydrogen fuel cell prime mover to infrastructure provided Barwon Water
  • Truck to shift biowaste to nearby treatment facility as part of Barwon’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions
  • Sale adds to company’s growing sales and pipeline for its HFC and electric vehicles across various industries

Special Report: Pure Hydrogen subsidiary HDrive International has executed an agreement to sell a Taurus hydrogen fuel cell prime mover to Victoria’s largest regional urban water corporation Barwon Water.

The agreement adds to HDrive’s growing sales and vehicle pipeline whilst broadening the reach of its hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) and electric vehicles across various industries.

It adds to the growing momentum that Pure Hydrogen (ASX:PH2) has enjoyed for its zero emissions vehicle business, which has seen a memorandum of understanding reached with commercial vehicles supplier Riverview International Trucks for the potential distribution and supply of its trucks in California.

The company also signed a terms sheet in late June with the City of Newcastle for the 12-month lease of a rear-loading HFC waste collection vehicle for a trial with the option for a four-year extension.

Other sales include the delivery of two electric mini-buses to Sapphire Coast Buslines in NSW in April and a sales agreement with Solo Resource Recovery in April for a rear-loading HFC waste collection vehicle, which adds to the garbage trucks that Solo is taking delivery of soon.

Potential sales in the pipeline could come from JJ’s Waste and Recycling where the HFC waste removal truck it was trialling passed all tests, with final approval pending from the Federal Government before it goes into service.

A transition to greener solutions

The state-of-the-art Taurus HFC prime mover will serve as a vital transport vehicle for shifting biowaste to a nearby treatment facility, while playing a key role in Barwon Water’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental stewardship.

For a company of this size – Barwon provides water services to ~320,000 residents across over 8100km2 in southwest Victoria – to integrate advanced HFC technology into its operations also serves as an example for other organisations looking to transition towards greener solutions.

HDrive chief executive officer Ben Kiddle said the Taurus prime mover is a cutting-edge solution that embodies that company’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

“Barwon Water’s adoption of the Taurus highlights the growing recognition of hydrogen fuel cell technology as a viable and essential component of the global transition to clean energy,” he added.

“As more organisations embrace these solutions, the positive impact on our environment will continue to grow.”

PH2 managing director Scott Brown added that the sale was a testament to the ongoing interest and demand for its fleet of hydrogen and electric vehicles.

“With continued traction in domestic and international markets, highlighted by consistent growth in its sales pipeline, HDrive continues to spearhead the growth of the emerging hydrogen economy by establishing product-market fit with best-in-class vehicle solutions,” he noted.
