A famed celebrity photographer is turning some of his iconic pictures of basketball legend Kobe Bryant into NFTs.

Kevin Lynch and the Masterpiece Digital auction house are using the RavenCoin blockchain for the sale.

The first of the four NFT packages offered for sale will be Lynch’s “Black Mamba” photograph of Bryant.

The buyer will receive an interactive 3D card of the iconic image, as well as encrypted “Behind the Scenes” high-resolution photos and an interview with Lynch about his experience in working one-on-one with Bryant.

Masterpiece Digital is working with Ravencoin artist gallery and NFT marketplace RVNFT.ART on the package.

A cultural shift

“I am very excited to bring my art onto the blockchain because I see a cultural shift in how art can be more appreciated,” said Lynch.

“The traditional art world is starting to pay attention. The idea of being able to share and trade art using cryptocurrency unlocks an entirely new revenue stream for artists and collectors alike.”

“Kobe left us with his lasting legacy, so these particular iconographic photographs of him are an enticing opportunity for collectors and fans.”

Lynch’s celebrity, fashion advertising and fine art images have appeared in museums and galleries in the US and Europe, and his work has also been found in publications such as Wallpaper, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Men’s Journal, L’Uomo Vogue, InStyle and Rolling Stone.
