The world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain ecosystem provider says has onboarded Carlton’s Eddie Betts and seven other Australian celebrities and content creators as it prepares to launch an NFT marketplace late next week.

Binance’s non-fungible token (NFT) market will include NFTs from street artist Lushsux and elite Crossfitter James Newbury, as well as famous sporting moments from Carlton veteran Eddie Betts and Socceroos legend John Aloisi.

There’ll also be NFTs from designer and artist Bianca Beers; crypto meme artist Lil Bubble; Melbourne sneaker artist Sekure D; and Sydney photographer and designer Demas Rusli.

Binance’s marketplace is going live on June 24 and the eight Aussies are part of an invite-only “100 Creators” campaign spotlighting creators from around the world.

“We believe these eight creators will provide eye candy to Binance NFT Marketplace users,” said Helen Hai, the head of Binance NFT.

The marketplace will share the same account system as Binance.com, meaning users can access the marketplace and trade with their existing Binance accounts, the platform said.

It wasn’t clear how much the NFTs would sell for, but Rusli sells his video NFTs elsewhere for 0.50 ETH (about A$1,700).

For those who haven’t heard, non-fungible tokens are unique digital coins. They can be used to represent art, music, real estate, in-game items and other assets.

Retired NBA star Allen Iverson and Def Jam recording founder Russell Simmons are among the other celebrities in the “100 Creators” initiative.
