Dozens of major names in the NFT space from across the globe are scheduled to speak at a virtual Aussie-organised conference on the subject set for Thursday.

The NFT Fest is taking place from 10am to 6.15pm AEST and is free to watch.

It’s the brainchild of Richelle Cox, the content director of Melbourne digital commerce agency Honey Digital, with support from Blockchain Australia.

The speakers include Yam Karkai and Raphael Malavielle,  the creator and co-founder of World of Women, a popular collection of female NFT avatars; “Lakoz,” the co-founder of the Koala Intelligence Agency; “Kaigani,” the founder of the Meebits DAO and Gauthier Zuppinger and Jess Ford of NFT platform nonfungible.com.

Executives from Animoca Brands, Immutable, BTC Markets, Virtually Human Studio and Veve are scheduled to speak, as is Illuvium co-founder Kieran Warwick.

Also on the list is David Elliot, head of commercial operations at the AFL; the commissioner of the NBL, Jeremy Loeliger; and Liberal Party Senator Andrew Bragg.

Finally, there’s also lawyers from Herbert Smith Freehills, Piper Alderman and Benjamin Cardozo law school and partners with Koji Capital, Airtree VC, Reinventure and MH Carnegie.

Snoop Dogg pays 1,300 Eth for ‘Some Asshole’

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg has added to his NFT collection, this morning paying 1,300 Ethereum (US$3.8 million) for a JPG called ‘Some Asshole’.

The rapper tweeted about the acquisition under his alter-ego, Cozomo de’ Medici.

It’s the biggest NFT sale since Cryptopunk #8857 sold for 2,000 Ethereum (US$5.8 million) on September 11.
