Security Matters (ASX:SMX) is a brand protection, supply chain integrity and blockchain technology company that recently listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, becoming the 18th Israeli-based company to do so.
Its technology is known as “The Intelligence of Things,” which is a comprehensive ecosystem of track and trace and supply chain integrity and quality assurance solutions that can be used for raw materials and end products. The technology comprises of a chemical-based hidden “barcode” system with a “reader” to identify these codes, and a blockchain record to store and protect the ownership of data.
KEY PEOPLE

Haggai Alon, Founder, Executive Director and CEO
Haggai Alon has over 17 years of experience in commercialising technology, having worked with the Ministry of Defence in Israel and in the private sector. He has a master’s degree out of Tel Aviv and Haifa Universities in international relations and political science and will soon complete his Ph.D.

Everardus Hofland, Executive Chairman
Ed Hofland, has been a director of the Security Matters Israel (now a wholly owned subsidiary) since 1 January 2015, and has been the Chair since the IPO in 2018. He has provided invaluable guidance to Security Matters and is a business leader that has brought in multi-million-dollar investments to the Arava Desert region of Israel. Ed Hofland is the chairman of leading industry, technology, and agriculture companies in Israel.

Ms Jovanka Naumoska, Non Executive Director
Jovanka Naumoska has expertise in intellectual property law, corporate law, and corporate governance. She also has board experience in legal issues pertaining to medical imaging technology. Ms Naumoska is a senior corporate lawyer and policy advisor of Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, and has been the acting general counsel since April 2019.

Amir Bader, Non Executive Director
20 plus years of experience in the management of agricultural business in Europe and Israel, currently managing one of Israel’s largest dairy farms.

Kathryn Davies, Non Executive Director
Experienced executive in mining, oil and gas, technology and health. Significant experience in delivering on multi jurisdiction transactions and global capital markets.
