Asian Battery Metals (ASX:AZ9) is an Australian-listed exploration company focused on critical battery minerals in Mongolia, one of Asia’s most prospective yet underexplored regions for copper and nickel. The Company is advancing its flagship Yambat Project, an emerging nickel-copper-PGE system in southwest Mongolia, where early drilling has identified multiple zones of massive sulphide mineralisation.
AZ9 brings together a technically strong, locally experienced management team with international perspective. With projects located near key infrastructure and in proximity to China’s EV battery supply chain, the Company is focused on unlocking large-scale mineral systems with clear development potential.

KEY PEOPLE

David Paull
David Paull has over three decades of experience in the mineral resources industry, including more than 10 years in Mongolia through his leadership roles at Aspire Mining Ltd as Managing Director and later Chairman. He also brings operational and commercial expertise from his time in marketing management at the Greenbushes lithium and tantalum mine.

Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren
Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren has over 20 years’ experience across mining operations, mineral exploration, and finance. He has held board positions with ASX-listed Aspire Mining Ltd and Oyu Tolgoi LLC, bringing deep knowledge of Mongolia’s mining sector and international capital markets.

Kirsten Livermore
Kirsten Livermore has over 25 years’ experience in mining policy, regulation, and stakeholder engagement. She served 15 years in the Australian Parliament and later led the Australia–Mongolia Extractives Program, supporting legal and regulatory reforms in partnership with the Mongolian Government.

Neil Young
Neil Young is an experienced energy sector founder and director, with nearly 30 years in the industry and more than a decade’s experience working in Mongolia as CEO of Elixir Energy Ltd. He is currently the Chairman of Australian Carbon Vault Ltd.
