Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU) is an up and coming supplier of Neodymium-Praseodymium (NdPr) – rare earths that have a number of applications in many industries including automotive, clean energy, consumer electronics, healthcare and factory automation. NdPr’s main use is in high-strength permanent magnets in electric vehicles, wind turbines and mobile phones.
Arafura is developing the Nolans NdPr Project in the Northern Territory which the company expects will be a long-life mining and chemical processing operation that could supply up to 10 per cent of the world’s demand for NdPr when in full production.
Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets are vital to the global automotive industry and Arafura expects that demand for NdPr will grow substantially in the coming years. The Nolans Project is on track to enter the global NdPr supply chain in the early 2020s.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the resources and manufacturing sectors having run major operational assets and led the development and execution of significant breakthrough strategies to deliver major projects.
Darryl, appointed as a Non-Executive Director for Arafura in November 2021, previously served as Chief Manufacturing and Supply Officer as well as Group Executive and President of Auspac Asia while at Orica Pty Ltd. He held various senior positions during his 24-year career with BHP, including 3 years as President of Olympic Dam with responsibility for operations, expansion projects and organisation wide transformational change programs. He has a broad international perspective, having experience in running operations across over 30 countries and has the ability to understand and work across diverse cultures to deliver results.

Peter Sherrington | Chief Financial Officer

He commenced employment with Arafura in 2008 as Commercial Manager and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in July 2013. He has more than 20 years’ experience in professional and corporate roles in Perth. Prior to working with Arafura, he held senior finance and commercial positions with several ASX and public unlisted entities. He has also worked in public practice for 10 years in the areas of business services and corporate advisory.
