The Unicorns Podcast connects you to some of the best and brightest founders, CEOs, executives, business owners, innovators, entrepreneurs and inspiring leaders who make things happen and inspire others.

Host Justin Kelly, former broadcast journalist and PR veteran, chats with leaders from across Australia and internationally on business strategy; what it takes to build a successful company; how to overcome challenges, and advice for those on a similar journey.

In this episode, Justin talks with inventor, entrepreneur and twice nominated Australian of the Year, Tony Clark, creator of SEANFORT and Backpack Bed for Homeless.

One of his most important missions and passions in life is to help people experiencing homelessness in Australia. Tony founded Backpack Bed for Homeless, a national charity which provides Backpack Beds and fire retardant sleeping bags, to people who have no shelter and are forced to sleep on the streets.

Social enterprise SEASONFORT designed its machine washable Fire Retardant Polar Fleece Sleeping Bag to be permanently fire retardant. To do it, Tony Clark designed ThermalTrex®, a Fire Retardant Polar Fleece which is breathable, cozy warm, washable, fast drying, light weight and safe. The award-winning product was recently recognised by Good Design Australia, winning a Good Design Award.

In this episode Tony talks through his business journey including his early years in tech; the inspiration behind his charity work; the hurdles he’s faced and how we can help fulfil his mission to help the homeless.
