The Unicorns Podcast connects you to some of the best and brightest founders, CEOs, executives, business owners, VCs and inspiring leaders who make things happen and inspire others.

Hosted by former broadcast journalist and PR veteran, Justin Kelly, we chat to leaders on the front line on how to get started, what it takes to build a successful business, how to overcome challenges, and advice for those on a similar journey.

In this episode, Justin talks with Nathan Torkar, co-founder of vehicle tracking tech business Solid GPS.

Solid GPS is a security technology company. Founded in 2020 by Melbourne brothers Nathan and Trent Torkar, the company manufactures GPS trackers that you can place anywhere in your caravan, car, motorcycle or anything big ….. with or without wheels.

Nathan and Trent stumbled on the idea for Solid GPS after realising there weren’t any good products on the market for them to secure their own motorbikes. Given how easy it is to pick up a motorbike and steal it (not to mention that over half of motorcycles stolen are never even recovered), they were pretty concerned and wanted to find a better solution – so with a background in software development, they developed their own smart tracker.

Five thousand customers later, the business is going from strength to strength with tracking devices deployed in vehicles all over Australia and internationally.
