RentaHitman.com started as a joke but has since ensnared at least a dozen would-be assailants.
Really dumb assailants.
In addition to the customer testimonials (“Guido and his public relations crew were able to resolve a five year dispute in a matter of days. Highly recommended!”) RentAHitman offers group and senior discounts, and a free initial consultation.
“The interviews and the news media that have … aired stories, it’s not slowing down the number of solicitations that are received,” says website creator Bob Innes.
“I really didn’t think that people were gonna be that stupid. Boy, did they show me.”
European and US share markets softened on Monday.
It looks like that big ol’ US stimulus package – which was expected to give markets a nice boost – won’t be approved prior to the US election.
The number of new COVID-19 cases in the US is also approaching levels last seen during a summer peak, according to Reuters analysis.
Meanwhile, the ASX is running its own race.
Yesterday, the local bourse touched seven-month highs of 6247 points at 12.34pm, before closing 0.8 per cent higher at 6229.4 points. The benchmark ASX 200 index closed at its highest point since March 5.
Today, it quickly reversed early declines to bounce into the green, before falling again marginally by lunchtime. The ASX200 was down 20 points – or 0.31 per cent – to 6,209.8 by 12:30pm EDST.
The ‘Big Boys of BNPL’ made notable gains in early trade. Afterpay (ASX:APT) cracked the $100 per share mark after announcing a partnership with Westpac, while Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) launched a new product called ‘Tap and Zip’.

Resources & Energy Group’s (ASX:REZ) Gigante Grande prospect is living up to its name.
New hits like 20m at 5g/t gold show that Gigante Grande could host “a very large mineralised system”, says the explorer, which is up +70 per cent in morning trade to its highest point since September last year.
A downhole electromagnetic survey has put to rest any concerns about the scale of Estrella Resources’ (ASX:ESR) recent high profile nickel discovery, chief exec Chris Daws says.
The explorer is now up ~1100 per cent since the start of the month.
Home Security firm Scout Security (ASX:SCT) clarified that a purchase order announced last week “will deliver approximately $US200,000 in revenue to the company”.
And a new strategic plan would return about $2.56 per share to Sunland Group (ASX:SDG) shareholders by way of progressive dividend and capital payments. This is a big premium to the 30-day volume weighted average price of $1.33 per share.
