Arrow locks in on five fresh and fascinating gold targets at Vranso

Arrow Minerals has unlocked five new fascinating gold targets at its priority Vranso project in Burkina Faso.
It’s a sterling start for former Arrow technical director Hugh Bresser in his new role as managing director, after taking on the position at the start of this month.
New results from a massive soil sampling program at the exciting West African gold project has revealed five sub-parallel systems all extending for more than 2km of strike next to areas of known gold mineralisation.
All remain to be tested and if true to the Vranso projects previous form, loom as serious prospects.
Identified in a detailed soil sampling program by Arrow (ASX:AMD) in December and January covering 2032 samples over 400m lines and 50m centre, all are open to the north and south.
Results of both that field work and historical soil sample pulps provided by joint venture partner Trevali Mining highlighted and confirmed the existence of multiple sub-parallel gold mineralised structures on the 10km long Sanguie-Semapoun structural corridor.
The historic samples provided by Trevali had only previously been sampled for base metals.
Drilling has been undertaken on only two systems, the Guido and Semapoun where gold mineralisation has been struck at both prospects.
Open north and south
The discovery of the five new anomalous targets is an exciting development for the Vranso project, encompassing 1300km2 of the rich Birimian Greenstone Belt just 100km west of the Burkina Faso capital of Ouagadougou.
The Birimian is home to some of Africa’s largest gold deposits containing millions of ounces of the precious metal.
Vranso includes 10 semi-contiguous exploration permits over 80km along the main northeast-southwest trending Boromo Shear Zone, which hosts numerous multi-million ounce deposits including Bissa, Bouly, Poura and Batie West.
Vranso’s 10km stretch of the Sanguie-Sempoun corridor remains open north and south, and Arrow is committing to more work to further define the targets.
It is the first time modern scientific exploration techniques have been applied to the underexplored gold project.
Soil sampling is being expanded to provide geochemical information over all areas of outcrop or shallow coverage.
That will be combined with regional auger geochemistry information to provide a comprehensive geochemical map of the Paleoproterozoic Birimian Greenstones at Vranso and define additional new gold targets.
