Nicholls’ skill set will complement the strengths of the existing board team as the company executes on a global growth strategy.

Fast-growing logistics tech platform Zoom2u (ASX:Z2U) has announced a marquee board hire this week, with the appointment for Kara Nicholls as an independent non-executive director.

Nicholls will serve as Chair of the group’s Audit and Risk Committee, and will also join the Sustainability Committee.

The appointment is in line with Z2U’s intentions first stated in the prospectus accompanying its 2021 IPO, where it flagged the appointment of an additional non-executive director to complement the board’s existing skill set.

“This appointment fulfils the Board’s intention,” Z2U said.

With a strong career that includes leadership roles at some of corporate Australia’s leading companies, Nicholls brings a wealth of governance experience to the Z2U team as it executes on an exciting growth phase.

Most recently, Nicholls worked as Group Company Secretary and the Executive General Manager for Group Governance at Commonwealth Bank.

Nicholls “has also held regulatory, compliance and governance roles with ASX listed companies Caltex (now Ampol), Woolworths, Arrium and Macquarie Group”, Z2U said

Prior to that, Nicholls also worked at the ASX as a companies adviser.

Commenting on her appointment, Nicholls said she’s excited to apply her skillset to help Z2U grow both its Australian delivery operations, as well as the global growth strategy for its Locate2U SaaS product that enables business customers to run their own fleet of delivery vehicles.

“We believe Kara’s experience will further strengthen the Board, and complement the skills and expertise of current Board members,” the company said.

Outside of her roles with ASX200 companies, Nicholls has also served as Chair and Non-Executive Director of Gidget Foundation Australia, a non-profit organisation supporting the emotional wellbeing of new and expectant parents.
