In a huge boost for explorer MTM Critical Metals, seasoned metallurgist and REE expert Anthony Hadley has been appointed to the board as a non-executive director to assist with project development.

Hadley will provide his expertise to MTM Critical Metals (ASX:MTM) projects in Western Australia and Quebec, bringing to the table his vast metallurgical optimisation skills.

Hadley has worked extensively in the REE realm, with more than 30 years’ experience in the mining industry, with previous roles as General Manager of rare earth producer Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) at the world-class Mt Weld REE mine, and with Northern Minerals (ASX:NTU) at Australia’s first heavy REE mine, Browns Range.

He comes with vital experience operating in Canada too, most recently as COO of Cheetah Resources – a subsidiary of Vital Metals (ASX:VML) – which started producing from Canada’s first REE mine Nechalacho.

Hadley will also enter a services contract for the performance of technical work that is outside the scope of his board position.

“We are delighted that Anthony has accepted our offer to join MTM as a director and we will be looking to his prior experience with the metallurgy of rare earth element mineralisation and with project development to assist the company as we progress our projects,” MTM MD Lachlan Reynolds said.

“Optimisation of the metallurgical recovery of rare earth element deposits is of critical importance to their successful development and eventual operation.

“So, we are very pleased to have someone with Anthony’s extensive technical and management expertise to support the company’s exploration and development strategy.”

MTM is currently drilling at its Pomme REE and niobium project in Quebec, where the company recently intersected more than 500m of continuous mineralisation, around 100m north of an historic hole that also struck more than 500m of REE and niobium mineralisation.

It’s also currently expanding a soil sampling program to identify REE anomalies at its Pt Kidman prospect, part of the East Laverton project in WA.
