Blaze International is aligning itself with some big names in the resources sector.

The ASX-listed explorer (ASX:BLZ) has named Tolga Kumova, Evan Cranston and Klaus Eckhof as strategic advisors as it advances its recent acquisitions.

Mr Kumova is the man best known as former managing director and founding shareholder of Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR), overseeing the company from a tiddler through to a top 200 ASX-listed mining company.

Mr Eckhof, who has been on too many boards over the past 20 years to mention, has developed multiple mining projects globally.

Most recently, he has overseen the spectacular share price growth of AVZ Minerals (ASX:AVZ). In the past year AVZ has shot from a penny stock to a company with a market cap of over $500 million.

“These appointments will broaden Blaze’s access to new opportunities here Blaze will quickly inherit a wealth of experience and knowledge in traversing the exploration of our current interests and the company’s future growth,” said chairman Josh Puckridge.

Mr Kumova and Mr Cranston each receive 10 million Blaze options, exercisable at 8c, expiring March 1, 2019.

All that glitters is gold

Blaze, a company associated with another well-known name in the resources sector: Matthew Walker, has been busy acquiring good quality gold assets in Western Australia.

There has been somewhat of a renaissance in the gold sector recently, thanks in large part to a nuggetty gold discovery made in July by Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) and Canadian partner Novo Resources in the Pilbara region of north Western Australia.

Blaze recently struck a deal to acquire Everest Minerals, which has an option to acquire the Kirkalocka gold project in Western Australia.

As part of the deal, Mr Eckhof and Corporate & Resource Consultants Pty Ltd were appointed as commercial and technical advisors.

Blaze is working with its advisors to collate existing exploration results and construct an exploration and growth plan.

Placement

Blaze is undertaking a placement to raise around $1.6 million to fund the exploration of the Kirkalocka and Thundellara projects.

The placement will comprise the issue of 31,753,316 shares at 5c each along with a free option on a one-for-one basis, exercisable at 8 cents.
