Special Report: Zenith is focusing on its three Dulcie targets after remaining assays confirm that the Dulcie Laterite Pit target is a broad scale gold mineralised shear zone.

The 4m composite assays from the remaining nine holes of the Phase One drill program include a top hit of 4m at 3.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold while more detailed 1m resamples from the first 18 holes have also confirmed the previous 4m composite results.

Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) reports that the latter include hits such as 3m grading 9.1g/t gold within a broader 9m at 3.9g/t gold zone and 2m at 9.2g/t gold within 8m at 2.7g/t gold.

Drilling to date has defined a very large-scale gold zone over 2km long, 300m wide and from 4m to 40m thick at the Dulcie Laterite Pit area at the Split Rocks project

The Company notes that the depth extent has yet to be fully defined with gold zones appearing to be locally stacked and open to the east as well as downdip to the west.

Other targets at Split Rocks are Dulcie North with intersections of 32m at 9.4g/t gold including 9m at 31.4g/t gold and Dulcie Far North with an intersection of 5m at 5.6g/t gold.

“We have now validated the first of multiple targets in the Dulcie area with further drilling planned at Dulcie North and Dulcie Far North,” Chairman Peter Bird said.

“The next stage at Dulcie is to try and identify some higher-grade zones and to consider some great depth extensions.

“This activity will follow immediately after we have completed our refined interpretation of the dataset we now have. The objective here is to define a broad scale open pit type resource.”

Other gold targets

Split Rocks is located within the Forrestania greenstone belt, about halfway between Perth and Kalgoorlie, where several very large current and previously operated gold mines located north and south along strike of the project attest to the regional gold endowment of this area.

Zenith has identified 18 drill targets in the northeastern sector of the project area and tested 10 targets including Dulcie Laterite Pit, Dulcie North, Dulcie Far North and Estrela.

First pass drilling of the remaining eight targets has been deferred while the company focuses on the near surface gold results at the three Dulcie targets.
