Stockhead’s ‘Garimpeiro’ columnist Barry FitzGerald is drill in hand and ready to dig deep for the latest instalment of The Explorers Podcast.

In this episode Barry chats with Roger Mason, managing director of Antipa Minerals (ASX:AZY).

Antipa is a mineral exploration company focused on the Paterson Province in northern Western Australia. The company established itself in the Paterson in 2011 in the belief that the region had excellent potential to produce more tier-one discoveries like Newcrest Mining’s (ASX:NCM) Telfer gold and copper operation.

In the years since entering the region, Antipa has developed a portfolio of more than 5,500sqkm of tenements over prime exploration ground and has experienced success in defining significant precious and base metals resources.

Antipa’s Citadel project, which is a joint venture with Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO), contains a resource of 1.64 million ounces of gold and 127,000 tonnes of copper across the Calibre and Magnum deposits, while its 100 percent-owned North Telfer project contains a resource of 723,000 ounces of gold and 26,000 tonnes of copper across the Minyari and WACA deposits.

Sitting fireside with Barry, the pair discuss luring Rio Tinto interest, un-neglecting the Paterson and holding onto the best ground in the business.
