Special Report: Infill soil sampling has enabled TG Metals to expand a soil anomaly and improve the definition of gold targets at Gold City prospect, part of the larger Van Uden project in WA.
The work has more than doubled the previously defined strike of the main gold-in-soil anomaly in the southern part of the tenement to 1.2km.
The anomaly sits on a topographic high and is interpreted as an in-situ soil response associated with historical workings.
In the northern part, sampling has also refined three additional areas of gold anomalism.
TG Metals (ASX:TG6) is now gearing up to drill test these targets.
Exploration upside
TG6 CEO David Selfe said the sampling had greatly enhanced the prospectivity of Gold City by increasing the area of the soil anomaly at old workings to more than 500m in strike and 400m in width.
“This strong gold anomaly, together with historical drilling results, confirms Gold City as the company’s satellite gold project in the region,” he said.
“After only 8 months of ownership our exploration success at Van Uden is growing the whole project substantially.
“With four genuine drill targets defined at Gold City, we are confident it will evolve into a much larger opportunity than was evident at acquisition.”
Selfe said the company was looking forward to the first results from drilling including downhole telemetry, a tool used to visualise RC drill holes downhole.
“Approvals are underway as there is a lot more to drill at Gold City,” he added.
What else is on the cards?
With assays from the recent Gold City drilling program on their way, TG Metals will take a closer look at the historical workings to determine what additional drilling can be carried out under existing approvals.
The company has commenced environmental surveys and plans to complete heritage surveys across the remaining target areas to support Program of Work applications.
Further infill soil sampling may also be undertaken where needed to tighten up the edges of the 1.2km soil anomaly and finalise the dataset.
Meanwhile, resource extension drilling is ongoing at the Van Uden deposit, 20km north of Gold City, with assays pending.
This program is aimed at testing down-dip extensions to the existing resource.
