Targeted for completion by late September, the aircore drilling program follows an initial RC and diamond drilling program, now complete with assays pending.

Silver City Minerals Ltd is following-up gold in soil anomalies and gold nuggets at surface in a 4,000 metre aircore drilling program at the Shadow Intrusive prospect within the Austin Gold Project in Western Australia.

The shadow intrusive prospect lies within close proximity to Silver City Minerals’ (ASX:SCI) tenement border with Musgrave Minerals.

The silver stock believes results from these programs have been highly encouraging to date, with the identification of visual sulphide mineralisation and associated quartz veining at all three prospects targeted.

The aircore drilling program is poised to follow up results returned from the recent soil and prospecting programs completed earlier in September, with highlights including:

  • Four significant gold-in-soil anomalies identified that trend northwest and extend for more than 3km;
  • Prospecting close to two anomalies has identified an extensive area of around 750m by 300m where gold nuggets have been found; and
  • Geological inspection of the rocks upstream of the area observed for gold nuggets indicates outcropping pyrite-altered porphyry intrusive rock with assays up to 0.2g/t gold.

RC and diamond drilling program

A total of 30 RC holes for 3,563m as well as four diamond holes for 466m have been completed at all three prospects targeted including Brunswick Hill, Brians, and Mt Sandy.

Samples are being shipped to ALS Laboratories and assays will be reported as soon as they come to hand.
