- Riversgold completes 29 holes totalling 1681m at expanded Kalgoorlie gold project
- First-ever drilling at Gold Wing delivered just weeks after October acquisition
- All drilling samples now in Kalgoorlie lab with results expected within weeks
Special Report: Riversgold has completed grade control drilling that was carried out to grow the mineralised system and define a maiden resource at its recently expanded Kalgoorlie gold project in WA.
The drill program focused on the undrilled areas between the western and eastern gold mineralised zones.
Riversgold (ASX:RGL) drilled 21 holes totalling 1351m at the Northern Zone and eight holes totalling 330m at the recently acquired Gold Wing project.
It acquired Gold Wing in early October 2025, increasing the footprint of its Kalgoorlie project by 170%.
“We are on target to deliver our drilling plans for our Kalgoorlie Gold Project, comprising the Northern Zone and Gold Wing Projects, through to the end of the year,” chairman David Lenigas said.
“We are delighted to have already completed our first holes at Gold Wing, located to the north of Northern Zone, just weeks after finalising the acquisition in early October and the first drilling to ever be completed on this ground.
“All of the latest drilling samples are in the lab in Kalgoorlie and we expect results to start coming through within weeks.”

Kalgoorlie gold project
The Kalgoorlie gold project comprises the Northern Zone and Gold Wing about 25km east of the famous Super Pit in the mining town.
Northern Zone is hosted within a porphyry unit with high background gold and horizontal gold mineralised units. It sits within the Canon Shear or fault zone.
Horizontal mineralisation means that drilling to date has been perpendicular to the gold zones with further drilling required to define the limits of identified mineralisation.
Gold Wing to the north has never been drilled with all previous work being undertaken by prospectors using metal detectors with trenches and scraping.
RGL notes its Kalgoorlie project has similarities to Saturn Metals’ (ASX:STN) 2.24Moz Apollo Hill gold project about 175km to the north.
This suggests there’s potential for a sizeable low-grade heap leach operation at the project though the Northern Zone alone could be larger than Apollo Hill.
A further 150 drill holes at Gold Wing have been approved by the WA Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration.
