Gold miner Red 5 is operational again at its Darlot mine in Western Australia.

True to its word, the junior producer restarted production at the mine late last week after rigging up a temporary solution while it fixes issues with one of its mills.

Investors welcomed the news — the shares added 15.1 per cent to 6.1c in early Tuesday trade.

Darlot is producing at a reduced rate but is expected to be back at full production by the end of this week.

Red 5’s (ASX:RED) forecast gold production for the March quarter remains unchanged at 12,000-15,000 ounces.

The company is continuing to optimise gold production, boss Mark Williams told Stockhead last week.

Red 5 expects Darlot to deliver 85,000-95,000 ounces of gold this year.
