Special Report: Raiden Resources has deepened its understanding of Andover South after completing a preliminary structural analysis of its lithium project, on the doorstep the world class Andover discovery.
The results from the detailed assessment of magnetic survey data come hot after Raiden (ASX:RDN) announced it had identified a new high-priority target zone ahead of its eagerly awaited maiden drilling campaign at Andover South.
Drilling is now just days, if not hours, away.
The detailed evaluation of drone survey and publicly available magnetic data has revealed that mineralisation is primarily found within the ultramafic units of the Andover complex, and specifically in a well-defined north-east trending structural corridor.
Managing Director Dusko Ljubojevic said: “We undertook the magnetic survey data assessment with the objective of understanding the district scale structural setting and the relationship between the observed mineralisation at Andover South to the setting of the Andover Deposit, which is located to the north-east of our target area.
“The district scale controls on mineralisation, inferred from this exercise will assist us to plan and refine our analysis on an ongoing basis, with the aim of defining further target areas and aligning our planned exploration activities through the entire project area.”
Raiden is wasting no time in progressing Andover South, with drilling set to start this weekend and another update expected on Monday.
Other next steps include work to define further structural trends that may have the potential to host pegmatite mineralisation.
The Andover discovery, directly adjacent to Andover South, is held by mining heavyweights Mark Creasy, Gina Rinehart and SQM.
One of the largest lithium deposits in Australia, it sparked a $1.7bn takeover by Rinehart and SQM of its former 60% owner Azure Minerals earlier this year.
