Okapi Resources has finished a soil sampling program at its new tenement adjacent to its WA-based Mount Day project JV with Lithium Australia.

The tenement contains the Maggie Hays Hill gold workings and covers a 10 km long zone of anomalous gold-in-soil results with a peak value of 88 ppb gold – which was picked up during a review of historic exploration.

Historical rock chips returned results up to 10.7 g/t gold and the best intercept was 2m at 11.04 g/t.

Okapi (ASX:OKR) is confident the tenor of gold mineralisation from the small historical program bodes well for the main structural target.

Defining drill targets

Only seven holes have been previously drilled in the tenement area, with five intercepting an auriferous structure with associated pathfinder elements.

The results from the soil sampling are expected to confirm historic findings and better define drilling targets.

The company plans to progress to other exploration activities – including drilling – as soon as it secures the required clearances.
