Eleven holes of a total 3,267m drilling program at the Tarcoola Project have returned up to 6m at 7.62g/t Au from 44m – a small snapshot of the broader regional potential to host dozens of shallow occurrences.

These latest results are from the Perseverance West gold zone at the southern end of the shallow, open-pit Perseverance Mine and confirm further significant high-grade mineralisation.

Perseverance West was initially discovered by Barton during its August 2020 Phase 1 Tarcoola drilling program.

Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) says these assays validate prior drilling results and confirm southern strike and depth extensions of the shallow open pit.

Other highlights from the drilling include 6m at 7.62g/t gold from 44m, including 2m at 18.2g/t gold from 44m, 9m at 1.20g/t gold from 48m, and 5m at 6.60g/t gold from 83m, including 1m at 29.8g/t gold from 83m.

Geophysical programs indicate dozens of ‘potential repeat targets’

BGD managing director Alexander Scanlon says three successive drilling programs at the Perseverance West gold zone have now yielded encouraging grades and intersections adjacent to the pit.

“We are systematically building a picture of Tarcoola mineralisation and with multiple geophysical programs indicating dozens of potential repeat targets across an initial 15km corridor, we believe these results are just a small snapshot of Tarcoola’s broader regional potential to host dozens of shallow high-grade occurrences.”

“This program saw 3,160m of drilling in the Area 51 prospect and new 223 North gold zone, with potential to identify significant new mineralisation,” he says.

More assays to come

As well as the pending Perseverance West assays from three step-out drill holes, Barton Gold is eagerly awaiting results from a recent May 2022 drilling at the Tunkillia Project, only roughly 70km south of Tarcoola.

The company expects the balance of assay results from the May 2022 Tarcoola and Tunkillia drilling programs to be received and released throughout the balance of July and August 2022.
