Bulk Metals: Lindian gears up for more high-grade bauxite finds

Lindian Resources’ (ASX:LIN) reckons it has identified significant extensions to the high-grade bauxite mineralisation at its Gaoual project in Guinea.

These are an approximately 1m northern extension to the Bouba Plateau at a lower elevation and the newly defined 2.5km by 0.5km Bouba South target on the southern side of the Tomine River to the south of the plateau.

Outcropping mineralisation at the northern extension appears to be conglomerate bauxite, similar to the defined and drilled Bouba Plateau, while a grab sample from Bouba South returned an assay of 62.5 per cent aluminium oxide with low levels of contaminants.

Drilling is expected to start in mid-March.

Lindian says both areas could add significant scale to both the Bouba Plateau and the total conglomerate bauxite at Gaoual.

MRG Metals (ASX:MRQ) is moving to start aircore drilling at the Poiombo target within its Koko Massava project in Mozambique after auger drilling returned significant heavy mineral sand grades.

Results from the auger drilling include 9m at 6.64 per cent total heavy minerals (THM), 12m at 5.8 per cent THM and 12m at 4.9 per cent THM.

The company will drill 10 reconnaissance aircore holes to test a central high-grade 9sqkm mineralised footprint, a linear magnetic anomaly extending east from the central footprint under shallow cover and a western extension of the mineralised zone.

Previous aircore drilling had returned consistently high-grade results from surface, with a top intersection of 54m at 6.53 per cent THM including 30m at 7.74 per cent THM.

Andromeda Metals (ASX:ADN) has formally acquired a 51 per cent interest in the Poochera halloysite-kaolin project in South Australia from Minotaur Exploration (ASX:MEP) after completing the $3m expenditure commitment ahead of schedule.

The company has now elected to proceed immediately to stage two through the sole contribution of a further $3m in expenditure by April 2023 to acquire a further 24 per cent equity interest.

Andromeda is focused on completing an update of the scoping study that was released in September 2019 and also expects to release results from the pre-feasibility study during the second quarter of 2020.
