Belararox is likely to see a sizable resource estimate for its Belara project after final assays from its Phase 1 resource drilling program confirmed the continuity of massive sulphide zones.

Of particular interest is the intersection of 5m grading 6.8% zinc, 1.19% copper, 1.38% lead, 55.82 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 1.1g/t gold from a depth of 51m including 3m at 11.17% zinc, 1.69% copper, 2.25% lead, 88.13g/t silver and 1.68g/t gold in hole BLDD028, which confirmed further high-grade mineralisation closer to the surface over a 300m strike.

Additionally, hole BLRC018D and its 5m interval at 1.04% zinc, 0.43% copper, 0.26% lead, 9.78g/t silver and 0.13g/t gold from 290m confirms that mineralisation is open down-dip of the previously identified mineralisation.

Belararox (ASX:BRX) is also progressing metallurgical test work with the first phase of flotation concentrates successfully produced for copper, zinc, and lead, providing confidence the metals can be recovered using standard flotation techniques.

This is important as it is a strong indicator that a processing flow sheet for the project will use tried and tested methods, which could in turn ensure timely progress of future feasibility studies.

“Some of the intersections have significantly higher-grade base metal mineralisation than targeted, confirming high-grade zinc and copper base metal mineralisation,” managing director Arvind Misra said.

“Our team is now focussed on the completion of the Mineral Resource Estimate by October and planning for the next stage of our exploration work around highly prospective strike and depth extension.

“We will continue to work with our advisors and the NSW government for the efficient grant of two new Exploration Licence Applications (ELA6176 and ELA6287).

“Grant of these licences will present an opportunity for exploration upside and will enable us to explore for possible repeats of Belara and Native Bee style mineralisation.”

Upcoming activity

The company expects to receive later this month results from down-hole electromagnetic and fixed loop EM surveys completed at both Belara and Native Bee.

This work was carried out to determine potential extensions to known mineralisation areas.

Belararox also expects to complete metallurgical test work this month while a resource estimate and supporting Competent Persons Report is expected to be completed during October.

Planning for the Phase 2 exploration and drilling is underway and will be announced in the coming months.
