Artemis Resources has found more gold at Purdy’s Reward, the site that made the “watermelon seed” nuggets famous.

The explorer (ASX:ARV) says the Purdy’s Reward conglomerate gold project extends westwards through to former partner Novo Resources’ Comet Well and into Artemis’ Comet Well West tenements.

Gold nuggets weighing a total of 3.6kg and fine gold were recovered from an area called 47K Patch.

Artemis’ shares were up 5 per cent to 20.5c at the open on Monday.

“Artemis has now identified about 67 kilometres of potential gold bearing conglomerates associated with the Mt Roe Basalt contact, immediately west of Novo Resources Comet Well 6 kilometre long conglomerate gold project,” said Artemis chairman David Lenigas.

47K Patch lies within the Company’s Comet Well West tenement package.

The company found nuggets in that area in November last year, and after gaining control over 47K Patch in March, it has found 1.3kg gold nuggets.
