Anova Metals has made a wonderful shallow, high-grade gold discovery at Crusher Zone South at its Big Springs project in Nevada, USA.

The results highlight several new lodes of gold mineralisation, which include:

  • 27.43m at 2.39 g/t from 21.3m, including 3.05m at 5.14 g/t and 3.05m at 4.59 g/t; and
  • 10.67m at 1.29 g/t from 118.9m, including 1.53m at 3.53 g/t.

This represents the first significant new gold discovery at Big Springs in the last 15 years, and the company says it confirms the effectiveness of its targeting and exploration approach.

The remaining assay results from 2021 drilling are expected to be received later this month.

Potential to rapidly grow Big Springs resources

Big Springs has Measured, Indicated and Inferred mineral resources of 16 Mt at 2.0 g/t gold for 1.03 Moz – and it looks like there’s room to grow.

“We are excited to confirm the first significant new gold discovery at Big Springs since the mid-2000’s,” Anova Metals (ASX:AWV) MD and CEO Dr Mingyan Wang.

“These excellent initial results have not only affirmed the substantial potential to rapidly grow resources at Big Springs, but also further enhanced our confidence in seeking to explore the other high priority targets identified from the comprehensive targeting study completed last year at Big Springs.”

Dr Wang says the results are a strong endorsement of its initial planning for further target drilling later in 2022.

“Applying our systematic approach to testing further targets at Mac Ridge North and Jacks Creek in 2022, we will endeavour to keep delivering outstanding, value-accretive exploration results for our shareholders,” he said.
