The uranium player has added to its management team, appointing Dixie Marshall as non-executive director.

Marshall has over 38 years’ experience in media, advertising, government relations and communications and is currently the MD of Marketforce – WA’s oldest advertising agency.

Plus, she previously worked for the Western Australian Government Premier’s Office as director of strategic communications – which the company says gives her a unique insight into government policy.

Complements the current board

Marshall is also the deputy chair of the WA Football Commission, a former Commissioner of Tourism WA and is currently a non-executive director of Frontier Energy (ASX:FHE).

“Dixie brings exceptional experience, most notably around government relationships and corporate communications, which strongly complements our current board,” Lotus Resources (ASX:LOT) chairman Michael Bowen said.

“I look forward to working with Dixie as we continue to push forward with the recommencement of operations at Kayelekera allowing Lotus to realise the full value of the Kayelekera Project.”

DFS slated for this year

Kayelekera – in Malawi – has a current resource of 46.3mlbs at 500pp, uranium and historically produced around 11mlb between 2009 and 2014.

The company says it’s on track to release the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the project in mid-2022, and it’s a great time to be in uranium.

The spot price hit US$60/lb earlier this month, which is the magic number a lot of aspiring developers use to justify the profitability of their future operations.

And it’s safe to say that sentiment has shifted towards the role of nuclear power in reaching global net zero goals.
