The first and so far only IPO of the year has been a successful one, with payments provider Splitit (ASX:SPT) up 260 per cent on its offer price of 20c.
Shares were fetching 52c shortly after lunch on Friday.
It surged 90 per cent in an opening day bonanza, and chief Gil Don told Stockhead later in the week that it was “not my issue” if customers couldn’t afford repayments, but rather a problem for the banks.
Ookami (ASX:OOK) was another big mover, its shares up 91 per cent this week to 1.9c after lunch on Friday.
The company released its quarterly report on Wednesday, saying it “has progressed to advanced discussions with a company deemed technologically and commercially strategic to Ookami’s existing portfolio and technological ecosystem”.
Bauxite Resources (ASX:BAU) was also on the rise, up 81 per cent to 7c after also releasing its quarterly report.
The company took $66,000 in receipts from customers, had $4.5 million in the bank and expects to spend $572,000 next quarter.
Body measurement tech company MyFiziq (ASX:MYQ) shares gained 40 per cent this week, up to 38c shortly after lunch.
A Hong Kong investor was so impressed by a demonstration of MyFiziq’s body measurement tech that it bought 10 million shares in the company.
Dato Sri Liew, director of Asia Cornerstone Asset Management (ACAM), said a chat and demonstration with MyFiziq CEO Vlado Bosanac was all it took to convince him to invest $6 million in the Aussie small cap.
And a $90 million investment sent Galena Resources (ASX:G1A) shares up 27 per cent this week, to 32c after lunch.
The investment came from Toho Zinc, a $47 billion Japanese lead and zinc smelting company.
Toho has invested the money for a 40 per cent interest in Galena’s subsidiary Abra Mining, which owns the world class Abra base metals project.
