ASX Small Cap Winners Sep 14-21

Australia’s newest pot stock Althea (ASX:AGH) enjoyed a stellar debut on the ASX Friday — tripling its 20c issue price.

The stock hit 60c just after listing at 11am AEST Friday with $5 million worth of shares changing hands in the first hour.

Althea raised $19.6 million in what was a genuinely over-subscribed initial public offering.

The timing of the float could not have been better with strong momentum among marijuana stocks in North America.

The stock closed the week at 56c.

Meanwhile Australia’s newest tech stock archTIS (ASX:AR9) made a steady ASX debut on Friday — listing just above its 20c issue price. The Canberra-based cyber-security play closed at 18.5c.

archTIS had originally planned to raise up to $10 million — including oversubscriptions — and list on August 27.

Gas explorer Vintage Energy (ASX:VEN) debuted on Monday at 23c — a 15 per cent premium to its 20c issue price. It fell back to 20c at Friday’s close.

Marketing software maker Invigor Group (ASX:IVO) doubled this week after signing a deal with a supplier to WeChat, the hugely popular Chinese social media and payments app.

Invigor’s data and loyalty technology will be integrated into the app’s e-commerce functionality.

The stock closed the week up 100 per cent to 0.8c

3D printer Aurora Labs (ASX:A3D) soared more than 80 per cent to 76c after figuring to how to speed up the printing of complex parts.

The company’s 3D metal printing Large Format Technology achieved speeds of 662 grams an hour, or nearly 16kg a day.

Aurora says that puts it on track to be able to print 1000kg a day with its Rapid Manufacturing Printer in the near future.

At the end of the week the stock fell back to close at 69c.

Consolidated Zinc (ASX:CZL) jumped 62 per cent to 2.6c after farewelling its first shipment of ore from a project in Mexico.

Cons Zinc — which is expecting first revenue in October or November — plans to initially deliver 100 tonnes of ore per day for processing.

By mid next year the mine will scale up to deliver 10,000 tonnes per month.

Decimal Software (ASX:DSX) rose 50 per cent to 1.2c after it agreed to be bought out by Sargon Capital.

Sargon will acquire all of Decimal’s issued shares for 1.41c.

Decimal chairman Mark Potts said the board unanimously recommended shareholders vote in favour of the scheme.

ASX Small Cap Losers Sep 14-21

Chip maker 4DS Memory (ASX:4DS) slipped 43 per cent to 6.3c after a carefully worded announcement that it would need to further iterations of its technology.

Shares in 4DS — which is working on advanced memory chips — tripled in price from mid-July to late August.

But the stock gave up two-thords of those gains this week after “extensive technical analysis”  revealed “process modifications” required to enhance development of the wafer chips.

“It is expected that the planning and development strategy for this wafer lot will begin in the coming weeks and these wafers will be available for analysis in Q1 2019.”
