The stage is set in Miami, Florida for SuperBowl 54 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers on Monday at 10.30am (AEDT).

Both clubs are seeking to break long droughts, the 49ers last won in 1995 while the Chiefs last won in 1970.

Yet it’s not just a big day for the clubs and their fans, but for businesses as well. For $US5.6m ($8.3m) you can have your 30 seconds of fame.

Among this year’s advertisers will be GM, Audi and Porsche showing off their latest electric vehicle models; President Donald Trump and one of his challengers Michael Bloomberg; and beer brand Bud Light. The latter company let its fans vote on which ad they wanted to see. This one is our pick.

Homestay Care (ASX:HSC) +40%

The aged care tech minnow soared on Wednesday after winning a deal to upgrade tech systems at nine residential aged care facilities in South Australia.

It’s platform uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to foster improved two-way communication between patients and nurses.

 

Ecograf (ASX:EGR) +36%

Miners in Tanzania have been struggling since July 2017’s changes to the Mining Act. The changes and uncertainty to miners and investors was triggered by a dispute between Barrick and the government over taxes.

But last weekend the parties declared peace and Ecograf told shareholders the floodgates are now open to obtain project financing. It is currently negotiating a $US60m debt funding proposal.

UUV Aquabotix (ASX:UUV) -29%

The underwater robotics maker revealed to shareholders this week it was being sued by the licensor of its technology. The lawsuit claims UUV breached its licence agreement and is calling for the termination of the licence.

While UUV told shareholders the lawsuit was without merit and would be defended, it failed to stop the stock’s latest plunge.

 

Neurotech International (ASX:NTI) -45%

The med-tech company suffered the fate of having the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) drop its device from the register of therapeutic goods, meaning it cannot be sold in Australia.

The company, whose Mente devices are aimed at helping children with autism, failed to satisfy the TGA that its device complied with all “Essential Principles” under the Therapeutic Goods Act. Specifically, the clinical evidence and information was insufficient to substantiate compliance.
