As Australia’s southeast sizzles under a heatwave, here are some of the week’s top gainers and losers on the small end of the ASX.

ASX SMALL CAP WINNERS:

Novita Healthcare (ASX:NHL) +170%

Novita Healthcare is at the top of the podium this week after its TALi Detect program – a tool used identify potential attention deficits in children – was approved for reimbursement under the relevant CPT codes by US regulators.

The regulatory approval means that Novita will be able to deploy its TALi Detect program before the end of the year.

 

Latin Resources (ASX:LRS) +111%

Trailing some way behind is Latin Resources, which is acquiring lectric Metals Pty Ltd, owner of the Noombenberry halloysite project near Merredin, WA.

Halloysite is traditionally used for ceramics and in the petroleum industry as a catalyst. There are also emerging uses in the nanotube technologies and cancer therapeutics markets.

ASX SMALL CAP LOSERS:

Botanix Pharmaceuticals (ASX:BOT) -49%

Shares in Botanix Pharmaceuticals plummeted after its BTX 1503 skin gel, which features a cannabis-derived active ingredient, failed to perform better than existing treatments during clinical trials.

 

Norwest Energy (ASX:NWE) -33%

Norwest Energy took a dip this week after 3D seismic over its Xanadu oil discovery indicated that the updip area is likely to have marginal commercial value while the downdip section is assessed to have relatively high risk.
