It’s a quiet schedule on the domestic data front. Looking abroad the European Central Bank will release minutes from its latest meeting, while the OECD is set to issue its latest global economic outlook report.

Junior explorer MetalsTech (ASX:MTC) surged ahead after announcing it had entered into a binding option agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the Sturec gold project in Slovakia.

The stock closed at 8.4c for an intra-day gain of 500 per cent — good enough for the best single-day performance on the ASX this year.
