The ASX Small Ords was down 9 points or 0.3 per cent to 2,846.3 at 1pm AEST.
GOING UP
Real estate property investor Phileo (ASX:PHI) rose 7 per cent to $13.95 on a quiet Friday morning for ASX traders.
Phileo is looking to delist from the ASX after more than three decades — and it’s offering shareholders $12.66 a share to sell out.
Phileo, which has a market cap of $378 million but only 28.9m shares on issue, had been thinking of ways to deliver its shareholders value following a significant increase in the company’s cash reserves from the sale of properties it owned.
Shareholders “expressed an interest in these sale proceeds being distributed to them”, Phileo said this morning.
Biometric security pay Maxsec Group (ASX:MSP) rose 12 per cent to 2.8c today after intruder detector AVA Risk Group finalised its takeover.
AVA –which now owns more than 90 per cent of Maxsec — will move to compulsorily acquire the business at 3c per share.
AVA valued the shares at between 2.9c and 3.3c according to a independent expert’s report.
Junior gold and copper miner Doray Minerals (ASX:DRM) rose 3 per cent to 35.5c.
Doray will sell its Andy Well gold mine for $10 million to focus on its flagship Deflector operation in Western Australia.
The cash and shares deal with Canadian miner Galane Gold also includes a joint venture over Doray’s nearby Gnaweeda Project, which has a current resource of 322,000oz, Doray said.
Doray was the best performing IPO of 2010 — rocketing from 20c to $1.40 – which was driven by strong exploration results at Andy Well.

GOING DOWN
Mark Bouris’s financial advisor Yellow Brick Road (ASX:YBR) sank 8 per cent to 10.5c this morning after Sir Ron Brierley’s Mercantile said its takeover offer was “best and final and will not be increased or extended”.
Yellow Brick Road investors were told to accept the 9c per share offer “as soon as possible” before it closed on October 19.
There’s been a back-and-forth between financial adviser Yellow Brick Road and corporate raider Mercantile (ASX:MVT) over the past couple of months ever since the latter lobbed a low-ball bid for YBR.
