Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Friday January 4:
The ASX Small Ords was down 27.2 points or 1 per cent to 2,419.4 at 12.15pm AEST.
GOING UP
Bionomics (ASX:BNO) stock closed yesterday at 9.9c, an all-time low, but bounced 11 per cent this morning to 11c as the company revealed its cancer drug candidate, BNC105, was undergoing a Phase 2 clinical trial in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, or in layman’s terms, bowel cancer that has spread.
The company had a rough 2018, with its share price collapsing 66 per cent after a different drug candidate failed to alleviate post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms after three months.
Taruga Minerals (ASX:TAR) was the second biggest small cap mover at lunch, up 22 per cent to 5.5c, though on small volumes.
The company had no news out, although on Wednesday it told investors presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo were delaying the negotiation of licensing agreements.
Mobecom (ASX:MBM) was another mover on no news, jumping 19 per cent to 12.5c before lunch, though also on small volumes.
Most recently the company paid $6 million for a platform that lets you pay your bills using cryptocurrency.
Mineral Commodities (ASX:MRC) was the biggest mover before lunch, up 25 per cent, also, would you believe it, on no news.
Just over $100,000 worth of shares traded hands.
