An unprecedented $US2 trillion ($3.36 trillion) stimulus package, designed to blunt COVID-19’s impact on the world’s #1 economy, is close to being finalised.

That rescue package added fresh positivity into markets, pushing the Dow to its biggest one-day percentage gain since 1933.

European share markets posted their biggest one-day gains since 2008. Australian shares also rallied after Monday’s 6 per cent fall.

The pending US stimulus package also nudged beleaguered oil prices slightly higher. Iron ore rose 5.1 per cent to $US84.30 a tonne, ‘Doctor Copper’ was up 4 per cent, while gold is going through the proverbial roof right now at $US1,627/oz (or $2,730/oz in Aussie dollar terms).

The ASX is green again Wednesday, with lots of winners to choose from this morning.
