The ASX Small Ords index was down 0.7 per cent or 19 points to 2686 by 12.45pm AEST.
Semen separator Memphasys (ASX:MEM) was swimming in the right direction this morning, moving ahead 41 per cent to 4.5c.
Memphasys is developing a membrane codenamed Felix that separates quick swimmers from flabby floaters to improve IVF procedures.
Today Memphasys told investors it had “entered a pivotal stage in the commercial development” of Felix, signing “the first of a number of leading international andrology and IVF clinics as partners to conduct invitro [or test tube] assessments”.
Under the deal, Memphasys will work with a Stockholm-based male infertility clinic ANOVA Karolinska “on the clinical validation of the Felix device”.
Memphasys is hoping for European regulatory approval in late 2019 which would allow for human trials.
Invigor (ASX:IVO) rose 33 per cent to 0.8c after confirming a deal that would see its technology used in China’s hugely popular WeChat social network.
Invigor more than doubled last month after it first announced a three-year deal with Winning Group, a partner of WeChat owner Tencent.
The stock later cooled to 0.5c before today’s recovery.
Invigor told investors the deal had now “become unconditional with both parties waiving the initial three-month pilot period and moving to live deployment of WeChat Pay in South-East Asia with the first significant customer introduced by Invigor”.
Newly renamed medical imaging service ImExHS (ASX:IME) gained 20 per cent to 3.7c after signing its biggest contract to date.
ImExHS changed its name from Omni Market Tide in August after raising $5.5 million at 2.5c per share to buy a business called Imaging and Healthcare Services.
ImExHS aims to be “one of the leaders of the Imaging Latin America market, offering flexible and scalable imaging solutions”.
Under today’s deal a columbian radiology group called Colsubsidio will convert from analog film to digital imaging.
The deal was valued at $2 million to $2.8 million over five years.
Manganese explorer Element 25 (ASX:E25) gained 25 per cent to 20c this morning after it started new drilling at its “Butcherbird” project in central Western Australia.
Butcherbird is said to be Australia’s biggest onshore manganese resource “comprising large tonnages of near-surface manganese oxide ore in seven deposits”.
Element 25 told investors today it had received heritage clearances from the Nyiyaparli native title claim group.
Drilling of 200 holes for a total of 7000m was now underday. Assays (or test results) are due on December and a revised resource estimate is planned for January.
