We often wonder if we ever have something better than our phones. Somewhat ironically, it’s taken a company only made possible through smartphones to come up with a potential answer – Snap.

In addition to its Snapchat app, Snap also makes spectacles and the company has launched its latest version.

They’ll be sold in November for US$380 and will have two cameras with exclusive 3D effects. You can take pictures and videos by tapping a button at the top.

In all seriousness, this is Snap’s third attempt at smart glasses and the first two were commercial flops. Will having an extra camera make a difference?

Only time will tell.

Today on the markets the ASX Small Ords is down 0.30 per cent to 2,854 while the ASX 200 is up 0.10 per cent to 6,575. Westpac consumer confidence gained 3.6 per cent and the Wage Price Index lifted 0.61 per cent in the second quarter.

Overseas, the US’ promise to delay tariffs sent Wall Street surging. Protests are continuing at Hong Kong airport although some flights have been able to operate and the Hang Seng is up over 1 per cent today.
