Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s following through on a threat today?

As kids we all heard, “if you don’t behave, Santa won’t bring you any presents”, but of course we never believed it.

That is until now…

One mum has made good on her threat and gifted her kids lumps of coal instead of the really cool fort they wanted.

According to Kidspot, it was accompanied with a letter that stated: “I must tell you that I was only just able to place you all on the nice list.

“I have given most of what you all asked for but unfortunately I have seen some awful behaviour and been told that you fight too much and have no respect for mummy.

“As a result I have decided this year that the fort you asked for I could not give. Take this as a lesson… I’m always watching.”

But the local markets aren’t as disappointing post-Christmas, with the ASX200 gaining 14.8 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 6,809 points while the Small Ords climbed 23.5 points, or 0.81 per cent, to 2,937 points.

GOING UP

Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) rallied 50 per cent and PanTerra Gold (ASX:PGI) jumped over 35 per cent, both on no news.

Twenty Seven Co (ASX:TSC) gained 20 per cent this morning after announcing it had made a high-grade shallow gold discovery at its Rover project just before Christmas.

Oakdale Resources (ASX:OAR) slid nearly 30 per cent on no news.

Panoramic Resources (ASX:PAN) shares slid nearly 20 per cent after suitor Independence Group (ASX:IGO) said it had lost interest in acquiring the smaller nickel miner because “a number” of defeating conditions had been breached.
