On Sunday a Perth police car turned a corner and officers heard a loud thud in the boot.

After chasing 31-year old Ali Hood for four days in relation to an armed robbery, he escaped by jumping out of the car at the intersection.

He was quickly recaptured – only 150m away.

Today the ASX Small Ords is down 0.09 per cent to 2,917 points and the ASX 200 is down 0.46 per cent to 6,742 points.

ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence slipped 2.1 per cent this week. ANZ head of Australian economics David Plank said the result was disappointing considering strengthening global macroeconomic conditions, the reviving housing market and Australia’s trade surplus.

 

Going up

Indonesia-focused oil play Bass Oil (ASX:BAS) rose 50 per cent with a positive operational update.

Novita Healthcare (ASX:NHL) climbed 15 per cent on news the pool of registration classes that was available under the NDIS had expanded.

The ASX’s newest pot stock Cronos Australia (ASX:CAU) had a tough start to listed life. It fell 32 per cent on debut last week and is down another 11 per cent today.
