Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunchtime on Tuesday, December 18:
The ASX Small Ords was down 36.2 points or 1.4 per cent to 2,508 at 12.05pm AEST.
GOING UP
Shares in biotech Paradigm Biopharma (ASX:PAR) surged 63 per cent in early Tuesday trade, after the company released positive results from its phase 2 clinical trial in patients with knee osteoarthritis pain.
Paradigm went into a trading halt on Friday at $1.32 and rose to an early intraday high of $2.15 on the back of the news. Most recently it was trading at $1.60, a 20 per cent rise.
Sun Resources (ASX:SUR) had risen 67 per cent to an intraday high of half a cent by lunch, a day after providing investors with an update on its Bowsprit project.
The company told shareholders yesterday that it had commenced initial surveys, including 3D geological mapping and environmental surveys.
The unexplained action continues at data storage tech company 4DS Memory (ASX:4DS), with its shares rising as much as 19 per cent today to an intraday high of 5.7c.
4DS Memory had to answer an ASX query on Friday last week after its shares rose 35 per cent out of nowhere. The company said it was not aware of any information undisclosed to the market that could have had an impact on the share price.
Donaco International (ASX:DNA) also continued its rollercoaster ride since announcing a strategic review last week, with its shares rising 27 per cent today to an intraday high of 5.6c.
The company gained 116 per cent last week when it announced a strategic review, but then lost 30 per cent on Friday.

Clean tech company BluGlass (ASX:BLG) was the biggest loser at lunch, down as much as 47 per cent to an intraday low of 15.5c.
The company released a tepid market update on negotiations with Lumileds in relation to the remote plasma chemical vapour deposition technology being developed between the pair.
