The Tour de France always finishes under the Champs-Élysées and this year it was 22-year old Colombian Egan Bernal who claimed ultimate glory.

But the last stage was won by our own Caleb Ewan – his third stage win of the 2019 tour which was his first attempt.

“I was under a lot of pressure because this team hired me because they want a rider that can win at the Tour de France, and they picked me,” said Ewan. He endured a poor start but picked up the pace in the second half.

Ewan is also a new father. His wife gave birth just before the tour so it’s fair to say it’s been a great month for him. No doubt he will be one of our best hopes to claim another Tour de France champion in the years ahead.

Onya Ewan.

After crossing 3,000 then retreating, the ASX Small Ords is up 0.40 per cent today to 2,982. The ASX 200 is up 0.27 per cent to 6,811.

Some might say corporate wellness is just another millennial fad but for one of today’s gainers – Medibio (ASX: MEB) – this ‘fad’ is its trade. A partnership with a device manufacturer sent it up 24 per cent.

A digital token agreement did not turn out well for YPB Group (ASX: YPB) but its QR code software platform has issued 100 million codes – and it’s jumped 25 per cent.

The biggest gaining miner with news was Andromeda Metals (ASX: ADN) which jumped 48 per cent  after getting closer to obtaining off-take partners for its halloysite-kaolin product.
