Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s causing a bit of havoc today?
News
The UK parliament has had its fair share of drama in recent times, amid the Brexit deadlock and last year’s election.
But late last week, lawmakers were also forced to deal with an unexpected guest when a curious fox infiltrated the building.
Having invited itself in, the fox then went on its merry way for a while — evading capture, climbing escalators and making it all the way to the fourth floor.
Photo evidence showed the fox also appeared to have defecated on the second floor — viewed by some observers as a possible display of protest against last year’s decision to scrap attempts to impose a ban on fox-hunting.
Building security eventually caught up to the four-legged perpetrator and it was escorted out in a crate.
To local markets, and the ASX Small Ords is on track to post its best day since early January, up 1.3 per cent to 3,034 points in midday trade. At the big end of town, the ASX200 climbed 0.81 per cent to 7,069 points.

The energy-monitoring stock jumped on some corporate news, after announcing it was keen on a proposed takeover offer by Toronto-listed suitor mCloud Technologies.
Under the proposed deal terms, mCloud would pick up BuildingIQ for 1.58c per share, and BuildingIQ shareholders would also receive a small number of shares in mCloud. A definitive agreement is expected in April, with the deal to be finalised by June.
