Late last year, this car (named the Bloodhound) was up for sale for the cost of a Ferrari. Now it has been repainted and shipped to South Africa, where it will attempt to break a speed record.

With engine power equivalent to over 150 Formula One cars, it will challenge the road speed record  – which is currently a lazy 763 miles (1,228 kilometres) per hour.

Local markets were more subdued today. The ASX Small Ords up 0.11 per cent to 2,876 and the ASX 200 up 0.3 per cent to 6,672.
ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence gained 0.6 per cent this week after falling for the last two weeks. But this was triggered by the ‘time to buy a household item’ measure which was up 5.1 per cent and consumers remained pessimistic about the overall economic outlook.

Going up

G Medical Innovation (ASX:GMV) was reinstated to trading today and it jumped 79 per cent. A response to an ASX query answered many questions the ASX and shareholders had about the state of the company.

Fertoz (ASX:FTZ) has jumped 32 per cent after a big order from one of the world’s largest agribusinesses for its fertiliser products.
