IPO watch: here’s what’s happening with 42 ASX floats
There are more than three dozen ASX floats in the pipeline — and they’re just the ones we know about.
Below we’ve made a list of 42 initial public offerings — most of which are going ahead and a few that are delayed or postponed indefinitely.
The ASX was the world’s fourth busiest stockmarket for IPOs in the recent half-year with 47 new listings in the half-year.
A resurgence in IPO activity is expected in the current half due to encouraging economic conditions, high equity valuations in many parts of the world and low interest rates, consultancy EY reported last week.
The ASX so far has 36 floats registered to list this half — including the $200 million Nickel Mines prospectus that launched on Thursday. Guided by mining entrpreneur Norm Seckhold it will be the biggest Australian resources IPO since Jupiter Mines in April.
Recent listings have run hot and cold. Real estate comparison site RMA Global (ASX:RMY) and dinner delivery service Marley Spoon (ASX:MMM) debuted at discounts to their issue prices this week, while computer chip software maker Pivotal (ASX:PVS) was much more successful.
Perth ag-tech Wide Open Agriculture (ASX:WOA) will ring the ASX bell on Friday morning after raising $5 million.
